You don’t always have to buy rings. You can use beads you probably have on hand and wire.

Small beads, big beads, faceted beads, smooth beads, square beads, circle beads. You can use any type of bead for wire rings. You can even blend different types of beads to create a different look.

Wire rings can be super simple or pretty elaborate. Depending on what your style is or what style you’re trying to achieve, you can make it.

You will need a ring size mandrel if you don’t already have one. These can be pretty cheap. I bought a plastic ring mandrel from amazon, but you can spend a little more and purchase a steel mandrel. The mandrel will ensure that your ring is the right size; you may have to start a ring size larger to ensure that once you’ve finished wrapping your ring, it’s the right size when you’re finished.

Auntie’s Beads is a popular channel on YouTube and website for beads and beading crafts. The YouTube channel includes tons of tutorials that include jewelry making tips and how to make various types of jewelry, including bracelets, rings, and necklaces.

YRDesign has several video tutorials, showing how to make various styles of rings, necklaces, bracelets, and even ear cuffs. I’ve included two different videos by YRDesign. The first is a solitaire bead ring, using a gem, and the other is a satellite swirl, wire wrapped ring.
