This is a cute idea for those who like adding the large letter wall decor to their children’s room, game room, or anywhere in the home.
Instead of buying a letter, you can make your own.
The one here can be made easily.
- Purchase an unfinished cardboard letter at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, or any locale craft store.
- Use craft paint to paint the brown cardboard. Walmart and the Dollar Store may supply a cheaper price, but many craft stores offer a low price bottle of their own brand of craft paint for $0.99-$1.99.
- Using a clear glue that you probably have on hand to apply any buttons, beads, and findings that you may have on hand.
If you don’t have any buttons or spare beads, you can usually find an assorted bundle at craft stores. I’d recommend using acrylic beads, as they tend to be cheaper than glass beads.
For one letter, you may spend up to $20, but you’ll find that whatever you make at home will be unique and yours. You’ll be more proud of something you’ve made.
You don’t have to cover the entire letter with beads, but you may just want to accent your paint with select findings. You could use large buttons and beads to create accents.
